Christmas goodies won’t just be found under the tree this December. But also, at McDonald’s.
From Dec. 14 through Dec. 24, the fast-food giant is offering daily in-app deals that feature the festive favorites of classic holiday characters such as Rudolph, the Grinch, Frosty the Snowman and Buddy the Elf.
McDonald’s will feature a different character-inspired treat each day, which can be attained exclusively through the app with a $1 minimum purchase.
“After a year like 2020, I think we could all use some extra cheer this season,” said McDonald’s U.S. Chief Marketing Officer, Morgan Flatley. “What better way to celebrate and get into the holiday spirit than with free McDonald’s menu favorites for everyone including Rudolph, the Abominable Snow Monster and yes, even Scrooge.”
Following the launch of celebrity signature orders at restaurants in September and October, these beloved holiday characters are the latest icons to be paired with favorite menu items featured at participating restaurants nationwide.
Aside from the free chocolate chip cookies on Christmas Eve, all offers require a minimum $1 purchase in the app and will be activated through mobile order and pay. To access the daily deals, simply download the McDonald’s app and visit the deals section to add to your order.

- Dec. 17 – McDouble – John McClane from “Die Hard”
- Dec. 18 – Medium fries – Rudolph from “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”
- Dec. 19 – Six-piece McNuggets – Gizmo from “Gremlins”
- Dec. 20 – Hotcakes – Buddy the Elf from “Elf”
- Dec. 21 – Any size hot or cold coffee – Scrooge from “A Christmas Carol”
- Dec. 22 – Any size McFlurry – Frosty the Snowman from “Frosty the Snowman”
- Dec. 23 – Bakery item – Frank Costanza from “Seinfeld”
- Dec. 24 – 2-pack or 3-pack of chocolate chip cookies – Santa Claus
